RUPERT THOMPSON TO PERFORM DVORAK CELLO CONCERT WITH KEENE CHAMBER ORCHESTR

Concert III of the Keene Chamber Orchestra’s 2003-4 Season at the Colonial Theatre in downtown Keene New Hampshire, will be an all-Dvorak program, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the composer’s death. The concert will take on Sunday, May 9, 2004, at 4 PM.

The program will consist of the Slavonic Dance, Op. 46, #1; the Cello Concerto; and the Symphony No. 8 in G.

Rupert Thompson will be the soloist in the Cello Concerto. Acclaimed as soloist and chamber musician nationally and internationally, Mr. Thompson is well-known to audiences in this as cellist with the Apple Hill Chamber Players.

Says KCO Music Director and Conductor Eric Stumacher: “ This will be the perfect way to celebrate Mothers’ Day. What could be better celebration than a beautiful, colorful, vivid musical experience like this program? All of this music is amazing and stimulating.”

School age attendees will be admitted free if accompanied by an adult. Additionally, children in attendance are cordially invited by the Keene Chamber Orchestra to join the musicians in dressing up for this concert if you wish.
