JACOB MACKAY
Hailed as “very expressive” by the Boston Music Intelligencer, cellist Jacob MacKay has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.  Recently, he has participated in the Palestine Sacred Music Festival and the Festival International de Musique de Chambre in France, as well as New Hampshire-based festivals including Monadnock Music and Electric Earth Concerts.  He has been closely mentored by members of the Ciompi and Lydian String Quartets, Triple Helix Piano Trio, Apple Hill Chamber Players, and Silk Road Ensemble.  In 2016, Jacob graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brandeis University, receiving highest honors in Music as well as a degree in Environmental Studies.  He was a Leonard Bernstein Music Fellow and the recipient of a Fisher Prize for “exceptional achievement in the creative arts,” as well as a Coffey Award for “excellence in the performance of music.”  Jacob remains a fierce champion for local music, and frequently performs benefit concerts for the Keene Chamber Orchestra and the Sonad Peace Project.
